High Frequency Therapy
High frequency therapy is a very old medical science which has been forgotten over time. The so-called Tesla-currents were developed in 1880 and were then implemented in high frequency equipment by various manufacturers. This form of therapy was further developed by Jacques-Arsène d’Arsonval and used with high frequency Tesla currents. Additional development took place around the turn of the century by J. Kowarschick in Vienna.
Treatment with electrical currents goes back to Roman and Mayan times, when electric eels were employed. Characteristic were the many various glass electrodes they employed. Numerous medical doctors adopted this highly successful novel therapy form at the time. One fervent proponent of high frequency treatments in 1920 was Ewald Paul, Director of the Scientific High Frequency & Light Research in Munich, Germany. His booklet “Advancements in High Frequency Therapy” was published in 1930, already in its 100th edition.
Prior to World War II many books on high frequency were placed on a black list of banned books and the knowledge of the achievements of high frequency therapy was lost during the chaos of war.
The accomplishments of high frequency treatments have proven successful; after medical diagnosis, patients can benefit from of 6 to 8 treatments of high frequency therapy prior to performing surgery, for example.
